Information
The specialist group "Ethics and Social Work" of the DGSA(Opens in a new tab) invites you to this year's "Day of Ethics in Social Work Practice", which is dedicated to models of ethical case consultation as a way of professionalizing ethical decision-making.
On the subject
There are now numerous indications that practitioners in all fields of social work are confronted with morally demanding situations that are sometimes very challenging to deal with. The focus of the Day of Ethics is therefore the question of the extent to which models of ethical case consultation can contribute to strengthening social professionals in practice on their way to making good decisions. In contrast to institutions with established clinical ethics, such as university hospitals, professionals in social welfare institutions usually have no institutionally anchored formats for reflection in which these challenges can be addressed and systematically discussed.
Therefore, on this Ethics Day, morally challenging socio-professional case constellations from the practical field of youth welfare and health-related social work will be discussed in the necessary brevity using selected models of ethical case consultation in order to give you a practical insight into currently existing models. In three keynote speeches followed by a discussion, we would like to talk to you about the potential benefits and challenges of models of ethical case consultation in social work practice.
