Top successes at "Formula Student" in the Czech Republic

Published

The "Rhino 3" impressed with its efficiency on the racetrack.

The Race-Ing. team from our university of applied sciences has once again distinguished itself with top successes: It now scored points at the "Formula Student" 2024 event in the Czech Republic with both outstanding presentations and high efficiency on the race track.

The team secured first place twice in the "static disciplines" ahead of the 13 international competitors.

  • Business Plan: For the first time, the business department of the Race-Ing. team reached the final to pitch a fictitious business idea - and convinced the jury with its idea of "Build & Race" under the slogan "For the Engineers of tomorrow". This is an interactive mobile app racing game combined with a physical model racing car. Modifications can be made to the car, such as tires or spoilers, which then provide a different driving experience in the game.
  • Cost & Manufacturing: In a detailed written report, the team explained the costs incurred for all components used in the construction of the current "Rhino 3" racing car, documented all steps in the manufacturing process and answered questions from the jury during the subsequent presentation at the event.
The Race-Ing. team presented all the details of the "Rhino 3" ...
... and was able to celebrate considerable success.

For the "dynamic disciplines", the team was able to pass all technical acceptance tests with the "Rhino 3" and compete on the "Autodrome Most" race track. The car achieved a strong 3rd place in the 22-kilometer endurance race with its consumption value in the efficiency category.

"The successes in the Czech Republic have given us all extreme motivation for the preparations for our last Formula Student event of the season in Croatia," reports Robin Bültel, spokesperson for the Race-Ing. team. "The start is already on August 20, 2024 and until then we will of course use the time to further improve the Rhino 3."

The open-air stage at the Autodrome Most racetrack created a special atmosphere.
