Purpose of data collection
The collection of data aims to increase both safety and comfort in road traffic. To this end, the test vehicle* is used to record data sets that are used, among other things, for the development of algorithms for environment detection, situation analysis, movement planning and decision-making.

This data collection and processing is therefore carried out in the public interest (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. e GDPR). The data collected is used exclusively for scientific research purposes.
What data is recorded?
The test vehicle* from the Faculty of Information Technology at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts uses extensive state-of-the-art sensor technology. Among other things, data from radar, lidar and camera sensors is recorded to detect the surroundings.
The identification of persons or license plates, for example, is only possible via the camera images, but is not carried out.
