Fast facts

Information

The exhibition series "photographic studies" provides a comprehensive insight into the work of students from the Bachelor's and Master's study programs in photography at the Faculty of Design at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts.

The first part of the exhibition in the faculty's gallery focuses on these works:

  • "FROM 1 TO 10" (Agnes Zimmermann): an experiment in perception that explores subconscious images and memories through hypnosis
  • "The Procedure" (Edith Geuppert): a photographic search for clues to the crimes of US gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar
  • "Expulsion from Paradise" (Britta Baumann): a collage that questions the destructive relationship between humans and nature
  • "Architecture of Simulation" (Marcus Heine): a photographic documentation of simulation spaces in science and research
  • Felix Schmale shows excerpts from his master's thesis fotojournalismus.net about local photojournalism.

The website www.photographicstudies.net(Opens in a new tab)  will also be presented in the gallery. The digital platform serves as an archive and presentation space and promotes exchange, collaboration and cultural dialog between students and interested parties.

Finally, "permanent gardening" will be presented as the third part. Conceived as a new dynamic exhibition format at the Faculty of Design, the students' works will be shown in the corridors of the faculty - supplemented by changing projector presentations in the foyers over the course of the semester.

The exhibition is free of charge and accessible until June 14, 2024 (Mondays to Fridays, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., and by appointment), including Saturday, June 8, on the university's open day(Opens in a new tab)  (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.).
