Information
The housing market is also tightening in Dortmund. People with little money are finding it particularly difficult to find a good place to live. The student group "Students of Fachhochschule Dortmund for All" is addressing this topic comprehensively in the Nordstadtgalerie.
Under the title "Using citizens' money, filling vacancies, living with added value for everyone!", the students are inviting you to an exhibition and discussion on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 2 pm. On display will be photographs and perspectives of well-known vacant buildings in Dortmund, such as the Hoesch AG administration building on Rheinische Straße or the vacant corner building on Ofenstraße. The photographic arc of old buildings, renovated buildings and new buildings from the harbour district, for example, is intended to visualize the context of the topic and create a space for discussion: How do we deal with vacancies? What problems do recipients of citizen's allowance face on the housing market?
The social work students also want to discuss cases of hardship on the rental and housing market. Representatives of political parties and the tenants' association will be present.
Participation is free of charge. Counseling services can be arranged in specific cases.
