Staying connected to Fachhochschule Dortmund - that is the motto of the annual alumni reunion. A good 50 professors, lecturers, academic staff and employees from technology and administration came together at the Hotel Drees on October 19, 2023. Full house, lots of memories and an exuberant atmosphere.
Prof. Dr. Franz Vogler, Vice-Rector for Sustainability and Digitalization at Fachhochschule Dortmund, welcomed the former colleagues and reported on everyday life at the university. What has happened at the university in the past year? What outstanding achievements have there been in teaching and research? Where do new challenges lie for Fachhochschule Dortmund?
A slide presentation by Eckard Ruttkowski, a former employee in the property management department, now the Facility Management department, was particularly well received. The photographic memories of FH events from the 1980s and 1990s provided plenty to talk about among those present.
The main focus of the meeting, however, was on exchanging ideas over coffee or tea and reminiscing. Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Schwick was also present for the first time in his new role as an alumnus. He had handed over the office of Rector to Prof. Dr. Tamara Appel this year.
