The step of formulating the description of nature and technology in mathematics is an important reason for a better understanding of nature and technology and, building on this, the rapid technical progress of the past centuries.

Electrical engineering and its applications are at the center of the action here. Efficient heat pumps, sustainable energy storage, photovoltaic systems, wind turbines, grid stability, etc. are all topics in which electrical engineering plays a major role.

The mathematical description and modelling offers the possibility to analyze, simulate and optimize these systems and is therefore an extremely important tool to be successful in this endeavor.
