Fachhochschule Dortmund and Sparkasse Dortmund have erected another Mega-Sitz-WürFHel. The 2.26 meter tall eye-catcher and seat decorates the lawn to the west of building no. 44 on Emil-Figge-Straße.
Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Schwick, Rector of Fachhochschule Dortmund, handed over the WürFHel together with Jörg Busatta, Member of the Board of Sparkasse Dortmund, for its intended purpose: to invite all students, teachers and other passers-by to relax as an architectural translation of the anniversary signet for the 50th anniversary of Fachhochschule Dortmund (Opens in a new tab) .
"The partnership with Sparkasse Dortmund," said Prof. Schwick, "is extremely important for Fachhochschule Dortmund. Sparkasse Dortmund is a reliable financial partner at our side, which is even more important in these difficult times. It has also enriched the Deutschlandstipendium for many years as a sponsor of many scholarships. We thank you very much for this."
50 years - 50 trees
To mark its anniversary, Sparkasse Dortmund is not only supporting the WürFHel campaign, but also the "50 years - 50 trees" project. With the participation of Sparkasse Dortmund, 50 trees were donated by Fachhochschule Dortmund for schoolyards and Fredenbaumpark.
To honor the support in the central fields of sustainability and social responsibility, the rector presented the board member with a certificate that identifies Sparkasse Dortmund as a "sustainability partner of Fachhochschule Dortmund".
FH has a diverse impact on the city
Jörg Busatta emphasized that the partnership is also extremely valuable for Sparkasse Dortmund. "We really appreciate what Fachhochschule Dortmund does for people and how it has a diverse and constructive impact on the city," he said. He accepted the thanks and the certificate "on behalf of our customers, who make our work possible in the first place."
For Fachhochschule Dortmund, the jubilee WürFHel not only symbolize the solidarity with the partners in the region, but also exemplify the practice-oriented teaching at the university. The extraordinary seating furniture was designed, constructed and built by the Faculty of Architecture with the help of students Betül Aslan, Rukan Eldes, Blerina Elshani, Beyza Özdemir, Tuğçe Şahin and Lena Wildoer-Valkysers.
