At the beginning of the summer semester, Fachhochschule Dortmund handed over another Mega-Sitz-WürFHel to the city of Dortmund. It stands in the park at the Baukunstarchiv NRW on Dortmund's Ostwall. The 2.26 meter high WürFHel is the architectural translation of the anniversary signet for the 50th anniversary of Fachhochschule Dortmund.
Prof. Dr. Tamara Appel, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Studies at Fachhochschule Dortmund, handed over the new WürFHel at the Baukunstarchiv to Mayor Norbert Schilff and Ulrich Finger, Head of the City of Dortmund's Green Space Office, on 29 March 2022. It is the fourth WürFHel to be realized jointly by the University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the Parks Department. "The WürFHel are places of communication and meeting places," praises Mayor Norbert Schilff. "And they are well received by the people of Dortmund," adds Ulrich Finger. So now another WürFHel is providing a new quality of stay in a green area in the middle of the city. It fits perfectly into the concept for making the city center more attractive that the city of Dortmund is working on with its partners.
For Fachhochschule Dortmund, the Jubilee WürFHel not only symbolizes the solidarity with its partners in the region, but also exemplifies the practice-oriented teaching at the university. The extraordinary seating furniture was designed, constructed and built by the Faculty of Architecture with the help of students Betül Aslan, Rukan Eldes, Blerina Elshani, Beyza Özdemir, Tuğçe Şahin and Lena Wildoer-Valkysers.
