As a token of thanks and appreciation for their commitment to Fachhochschule Dortmund and the good cooperation, the university management invited its cooperation partners to a cultural highlight at the Dortmund Opera on March 22, 2024.

At a champagne reception, around 100 guests from academia, Business Studies and city society got in the mood for the performance of the successful Broadway musical RENT. They were welcomed in the box seats of the opera house by the Minister for Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Ina Brandes, the Rector of Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Prof. Dr. Tamara Appel, as well as the Managing Director of Dortmund Theatre, Tobias Ehinger, and the Director of Dortmund Opera, Heribert Germeshausen.

Fachhochschule Dortmund maintains numerous, in some cases long-standing, cooperative partnerships with companies and institutions from the city and region. This cooperation is fruitful for both sides: At Fachhochschule Dortmund, it contributes to strengthening teaching and research as well as to the further development of the university as a whole. The networking of science, culture, urban society and business studies is also important for the shaping and further development of Dortmund as a city of science.

One example of successful cooperation between science and culture is the partnership between Fachhochschule Dortmund and Theater Dortmund. This cooperation has now existed for more than ten years. Since then, more than 35,000 FH tickets have been used by students, giving them free admission to the theater and thus a low-threshold opportunity to participate in cultural life.
