Participation campaign: Personal favorite places were connected with the Nordstadt.

The colorful event organized by the General Student Committee (AStA), the Hochschule vor Ort and Quatiersmanagement Nordstadt on Mehmet-Kubaşık-Platz stands for diversity, respect and tolerance. The program included live music and poetry on Friday, 14 July 2023, from 5 to 9 pm.

Music was provided on a stage by singer Hannah Wetter and guitarist Jean-Michel Kellermann. The duo from Essen alternated with Alina Schmolke and Max Raths from Düsseldorf, who contributed poetry. In addition to hands-on activities from the family service and the Hochschule vor Ort, visitors enjoyed free coffee and information stands from Fachhochschule Dortmund.

Since 2019, the square between Münsterstrasse and Mallinckrodtstrasse has borne the name of Mehmet Kubaşık, who was murdered in 2006 by members of an extreme right-wing terrorist cell known as the National Socialist Underground (NSU).
