Recognition for the "Falt:Werk" project
Under the direction of Prof. Christine Remensperger and Dipl.-Ing. Tina Draller, the student team of Mohanad Lababedi, Katharina Schreider, Enya Ullrich and Silvia Wolf won recognition at this year's 17th edition of the nationwide university competition "Dachwelten". 10 universities with a total of 40 architecture and interior design students competed in a 24-hour impromptu competition. The task was to add a storey to the former "Pentagon" bale warehouse in the Neckarspinnerei quarter in Wendlingen-Unterboihingen - an IBA'27 project, with which the Roof Worlds are cooperating this year.
Comment from the jury
"A new building with differently pitched saddle roofs appears above a strong joint. In the jury's opinion, the diverse range of spaces requires more openings than are offered. These could increase the quality of use."
The work receives recognition and 500 euros.
