Learning objectives

• Understand how innovation projects are initiated and gain knowledge of the various phases and processes of innovation development
• Develop the ability to systematically generate and evaluate ideas and creative solutions and transform them into concepts
• Develop an understanding of strategic innovation management and the importance of an innovation culture in companies
• The event consists of a kick-off and four practical workshops that build on each other. The basics of innovation management are taught.

Workshop 1: Initiating innovation projects: Analyzing trends, determining search fields and initiating innovation projects are the focus of this workshop. Participants will acquire the skills to identify relevant trends and to target search strategies for successful innovation projects.

Workshop 2: Generating ideas: teaching methods for systematically generating ideas in order to promote creative thought processes. Participants learn practice-oriented approaches to generate inspiring ideas and apply them in their professional context.

Workshop 3: Idea selection, evaluation and transfer into concepts: This workshop focuses on the systematic selection and evaluation of ideas and their implementation in concrete concepts. Participants will gain practical insights to help them make decisions when implementing innovation ideas.

Workshop 4: Strategic innovation management and agile methods with a focus on design thinking. Combination of strategic innovation management with agile methods, in particular design thinking. You will acquire the skills to strategically manage innovation processes using flexible, customer-oriented approaches.

Workshop 5: Innovation culture and marketingDeveloping a conducive innovation culture and effective strategies for marketing innovations are the focus of this workshop. You will learn how to create an open, creative atmosphere and successfully position innovations.

In a rapidly changing world of work, in which qualifications quickly become obsolete and a job for life has become the exception, the skills acquired over the course of a lifetime are becoming increasingly important. However, these skills are rarely found on diplomas or CVs and are developed through experiential learning. The diversity of professional life and the question of professional satisfaction require new approaches.

The skills assessment, developed by Dr. Claas Triebel in 2003, has established itself as a leading instrument for career advice. This structured coaching process actively supports people in shaping their own career and professional path.

By focusing on personal skills and systematically developing strengths and abilities, the aim is to increase adaptability and thus employability. Employability is a special form of active adaptability that enables employees to recognize and implement career opportunities.

Based on Klaus Grawe's process model of effective therapy progression, the skills assessment enables real change.

In personal meetings, we analyze the individual requirements and goals of your study, project or final thesis. Our experienced team is at your side with professional expertise to offer you tailor-made support.

When supervising student research projects, we are also on hand to help you with methodological issues and the development of research questions. We actively promote scientific discourse and support you in presenting your research results.

For final theses, we also offer a professional review and correction of your work with regard to formal and stylistic requirements. Our aim is to raise your work to the highest scientific level.

Between the individual sessions, the participants have to complete various tasks. To pass the course, an idea paper, a short business plan including a financial plan and a presentation in the form of a pitch deck must be prepared. The presentation must also be given in front of a panel of experts on the last day of the course.

Registration takes place via the study portal and is offered at the beginning of the semester. The number of participants is limited to 30 (course number 99664).

One of the goals of the German government's start-up strategy is to strengthen female start-up founders and diversity. At 20 percent, the EXIST funding statistics show that the proportion of female founders is higher than the national average and has been on the rise in recent years in particular. The commitment of the start-up networks has also contributed to this positive development with their wide range of offers to raise awareness among women and to promote and network female founders.

With EXIST-Women, women at their university who are interested in starting a business and have an affinity for entrepreneurship are given the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the topics of start-ups and self-employment at an early stage. Even more than before, the start-up networks at universities are to be encouraged to motivate female graduates, scientists, students and women with professional qualifications and a connection to the university (e.g. technical assistants, chemical-technical assistants, administrative assistants) to become entrepreneurs. The new EXIST funding line includes events, advice and support services as well as a financial grant for prospective female founders.
