Information
Our guests are Gesine Schütt and Max Schulte, representing the Mietshäusersyndikat, a cooperative and non-commercial investment company in Germany.
For over thirty years, the Miethäusersyndikat has been bringing together housing projects that jointly oppose the exploitation logic of the real estate market by creating prospects based on solidarity and the common good: Houses are de-privatized, converted into common property and space is created for affordable residential and commercial space through self-organization. There are now over 190 projects and initiatives across Germany.
The architect and the political scientist will present the Syndikat and some of the resulting housing projects from different perspectives, which will certainly make the lecture special.
