Information
The DeepTech innovation network "ruhrvalley" will be represented at the "E-world energy & water" trade fair from May 23 to 25, 2023. At the joint state stand of North Rhine-Westphalia, the public will learn more about a "Smart City Ecosystem". This enables the targeted exchange and analysis of data and thus new business models.
The essential basis of a smart city is data. When they are linked together, new insights can be gained and added value generated. However, sharing data is not that easy. Although a large amount of data is collected and managed in a city, it usually comes from different sources and is stored in different systems that are often incompatible with each other. This results in isolated data silos. The "Smart City Ecosystem" (SCitE), which is being developed together with companies in the "ruhrvalley" project of the same name at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts, offers a solution to this situation.
With the help of SCitE, cities and companies can exchange their data with each other in their own "Smart City Ecosystem" without having to switch to a new system. Instead, the data remains with the respective partner and is connected to the "Smart City Ecosystem" using an interface.
