Exhibition: Peace, joy, pancakes?!

Is peace more than the absence of war? In the artistic works created in the "Peace - what is it good for?" course at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts, students from the Faculty of Design take a critical approach to the question of peace.

With the help of photography, film, sound and installation techniques, they have created thought-provoking works that will be exhibited in the Nordstadtgalerie from July 19, 2024 to July 26, 2024. During the opening dates, visitors will have the opportunity to talk to the students and find out more about their work.
The young artists have been working on peace research in the course taught by Ina-Jasmin Kossatz(Opens in a new tab) . This describes a state of social justice, good relationships, ecological sustainability, equality and non-violence as positive peace - the only form of peace that can guarantee a safe and sustainable life. So do we live in peace? And when does peace actually begin?
