Green paint, brown roots - right-wing extremists in the nature conservation scene

Fast facts

Information

As part of the project work in the BMBF-funded(Opens in a new tab)  research project "SuPraStadt", the project team invites you to the lecture "Grüner Anstrich, braune Wurzeln - Rechtsextremismus im Naturschutz" at the Bürgerhaus "Pulsschlag"(Opens in a new tab) . The event is being organized as part of the Dorstfeld Climate Neighbourhood and is being held in cooperation with the Fachstelle für Radikalisierungsprävention und Engagement im Naturschutz (FARN).

Right-wing extremist groups and individuals are involved in nature conservation. They reject genetic engineering and nuclear energy, advocate organic farming and species-appropriate animal husbandry and campaign for the "native bee". Many of their demands go hand in hand with those of environmental associations and nature conservation organizations. Only on closer inspection does it become clear that right-wing nature and environmental protection is always linked to racist, biologistic and nationalist ideas.

But what concrete links exist between nature conservation and right-wing extremist ideologies and what possibilities are there for recognizing and naming these links to nature conservation issues and developing well-founded counterarguments?

Participation is free of charge and is aimed at anyone interested in the topic. Registration is not required. If you have any questions, please contact suprastadtfh-dortmundde

The lecture is offered by the Fachstelle für Radikalisierungsprävention und Engagement im Naturschutz(FARN(Opens in a new tab) ).
