Smart Energy and Systems" conference

Information

The "Smart Energy and Systems" conference on 26 and 27 September 2023 will address current issues relating to digitalization in the energy distribution grid, in the neighbourhood and in the smart home. It is being hosted by the Institute for Communication Technology at Fachhochschule Dortmund in cooperation with the "Ruhr Master School", in which Bochum University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences are also involved.

The conference is a contribution to Digital Week Dortmund and is primarily aimed at experts from companies and scientific institutions. Master's students with a technical focus who are interested in the subject area are also welcome, for example from the fields of electrical engineering, computer science, information technology or mechanical engineering.

  • Thefirst day of the conference will focus on concepts, models and knowledge-based software solutions. The keynote speech "Redispatch 3.0 - Data Space and Intelligent Energy Management in the Distribution Grid" will be given by Prof. Dr. Michael Laskowski(Opens in a new tab)  from the Faculty of Information Technology at Fachhochschule Dortmund. Practice-oriented presentations will delve deeper into the topic in the following session. A second session will deal specifically with artificial intelligence in districts and in the distribution grid.
  • The second day of the conference will focus on physical technology. The keynote speech by Oliver Warweg from the Fraunhofer Institute of Optronics, System Technologies and Image Exploitation (IOSB) will kick off with a presentation session on interconnected heating grids for industry, districts and households. Another session will look at the system view of storage-based electricity and heating grids. The program will culminate in a dialogue between the auditorium and experts from industry, energy suppliers and research institutions.
