Content

This report contains partial results of the joint research and development project "Care in the Neighborhood" (PiQ), which was carried out between 2016 and 2019 at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences (Faculty of Computer Science and Faculty of Applied Social Studies) in cooperation with practice partners from the fields of elderly care and nursing care in Gelsenkirchen. The aim of the project was to improve the care and participation of people in need of care through the networking of care structures, combined with the development of digital support structures. The report focuses on the sub-projects (TP) and work packages (AP) that were carried out in the Faculty of Applied Social Studies and thus takes a primarily social science as well as an economic perspective. These include the sub-projects "Stock analysis/evaluation" and "Cost/efficiency analysis". The report thus summarizes the state of research on home care for people with care needs and their relatives, the empirical surveys, the description of the interventions in the field and (prototypically developed) digital products as well as the cost efficiency analysis from the perspective of potential cost bearers.
