WEDNESDAY, 24.04.: HAMBURG CALLING... AGAIN
Ever since the big bang of pop with the Beatles, Hamburg, with its long tradition of live music, can be described as a gateway to the world for a multitude of musicians. Using archive material and interviews with contemporary witnesses, the documentary "Hamburg Calling" offers a fascinating insight into Hamburg's unique musical landscape of the last 50 years - from punk to the Hamburg School to hip hop. The screening will be followed by an exciting panel discussion with director and professor Oliver Schwabe, Natascha Geier (NDR Kultur, TV editor), Peta Devlin (musician -Die Braut haut ins Auge, Oma Hans and others- and music producer), Frank Spilker (musician -Die Sterne- novelist, songwriter) moderated by Catharina Boutari (musician -Puder-, label operator, music theater director).
