Vortrag im Rahmen von "KI & Wir: Verstehen, Erleben, Diskutieren" der VHS Dortmund

In cooperation with Fachhochschule Dortmund, VHS Dortmund invites you to the "AI & Us: Understanding, Experiencing, Discussing" day of action and continues the current discussion about the social impact of AI, creates a space for concrete experiences with AI and thus makes the topic of artificial intelligence more tangible for all interested citizens.

What is AI beyond the buzzword and how does it work?
What does this AI do to us as individuals and to us as a society?
And what do we want to be able to do with the help of AI applications?
It is clear that artificial intelligence has already arrived in the everyday areas of our lives. AI is a key technology for shaping the future in an increasingly digitalized world. The aim of the Action Day is to respond to the needs and requirements of people in this world. This includes showing customers learning paths for the individual development of future-relevant skills and actively accompanying them in order to participate in the digital transformation in an informed, self-determined and empowered manner. With a keynote speech, various presentations and discussion rounds, we will approach artificial intelligence on November 11: witty, informative, entertaining and guaranteed with real people. Researchers, artists, AI experts and companies from the field are invited.

To introduce the topic, Dr. Matthias Begenat will talk about the changes in society in the age of AI. He is Head of Science Communication at the Center for Advanced Internet Studies (CAIS) in Bochum.

He will then talk about how AI is changing the world of work and the value of creative work, while ideas, concepts & products can now be generated at the click of a mouse - with a high energy input for training AIs and comparatively little time spent on the user side. Pamela C. Scorzin, Professor of Art Studies & Visual Culture at Fachhochschule Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts, and Marina Klostermann, AI research group at the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA, Dortmund) will welcome you in two parallel lectures\workshops.
