About the project
The students' task in the summer semester of 2024 was to develop a game piece using a Pritzker Prize winner of their choice as a model.
Each prizewinner could only be selected and worked on once during the course of the seminar. The design had to take into account the use of architectural materials such as concrete, wood, glass or metal in order to create a harmonious connection between the materials and the plastic clamping blocks. Materials were to be selected that suited the respective personalities and their buildings. It was important to consider how these materials could be used in combination with 3D printing to achieve an appealing result. In addition to the standard clamping components, special components had to be developed to give the figure an appropriate level of detail.
Finally, the students had to create a brochure in which they presented the design process, the materials used, the technical aspects, the creative decisions and the unique features of their figure and its packaging.
