The picture has a narrow horizontal page format. It shows a collection of twenty-seven differently sized, dimensioned and generally differently designed sculptures made of concrete against a black background. The sculptures stand in approximately four rows and are offset in space. Their design appears geometric, free-form or a combination of both. Some of them are colored bright red, grey, black or yellow. At the back are tall, cylindrical or bar-shaped sculptures in terms of volume, but with very individual, sometimes curved and stepped shapes.

About the project

The "CONCRETE SCULPTURE" project shows the realization of individual exposed concrete sculptures which were designed by students as part of the Building Materials Technology 2 course.

The students of the 2nd semester designed architectural sculptures in the laboratory exercise accompanying the semester under the supervision of Dipl.-Ing. Daniel Horn M.Sc. and produced precise formwork. These were then filled with a special "fine-grain concrete" (self-compacting) and stripped and finished by the students. The result was 30 unique, filigree concrete sculptures.

The aim of this course was to train students in the perception of design principles and the manual production of formwork for implementation on a 1:1 scale.
