Discussion about AI in healthcare

In the 3sat program "scobel - Healthy through AI", experts, including Prof. Dr. Britta Böckmann from the Faculty of Computer Science at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts, discussed the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) in the healthcare sector.

The programme hosted by presenter Gert Scobel highlighted the opportunities that AI offers for improved medical care, such as more precise diagnoses, personalized therapies and more efficient care. In addition to the opportunities, it also looked at the challenges and risks, such as ethical issues, data protection requirements and the future role of doctors.

Britta Böckmann's research focuses on telemedicine and telematics, decision support and AI as well as e-health. She is leading an interdisciplinary research project on the use of AI in medicine.
