What the 2024 open day was like

Published

For those interested in the FH, everything was available at the open day.

Visitors to Fachhochschule Dortmund's Open Day 2024 not only came from the surrounding area, but also from further afield. They got to know a multifaceted, attractive university where openness is not just for the entrances.

In the architecture foyer, visitors were able to find out more at all levels.

A prospective student traveled from Kleve with her mother to take a look at the Faculty of Architecture. Both were enthusiastic about the campus, the laboratories and the wide range of opportunities that the UAS course has to offer.

Two others had already applied and submitted their portfolios. Now they were eagerly awaiting the aptitude test and the interviews with the professors.

The employees answered all questions, students and doctoral candidates presented their projects.

Dean Prof. Dr. Katja Nowacki, among others, was available for discussions and advice at the stand of the Faculty of Applied Social Studies. Staff and students also offered guided tours of the campus, which were well attended.

The professors and deans of the other faculties and the AStA also held in-depth discussions with prospective students.

The installations on and in the design building could be experienced on the cell phone.

Students and staff presented the wide range of courses on offer, explained research projects and provided information about campus life.

The Faculty of Design had installed an online museum in 15 of its rooms. QR codes were used to display virtual 3D objects that could only be viewed using a cell phone camera.

On the open day, discussions had unrestricted priority.

Visitors were very positive about the opportunity to talk to and question all students, teaching staff and employees in an uncomplicated manner.

In addition to prospective students, many employees also took the opportunity to show their families around the workplace.

There was an opportunity to relax between the information sessions.
