Hans Uhde Prize honors academic achievements

The Hans Uhde Award winners were also congratulated by the Deputy Rector of Fachhochschule Dortmund, Prof. Dr. Tamara Appel (2nd from right).

Four Fachhochschule Dortmund alumni were honored with the Hans Uhde Prize for their outstanding academic achievements in engineering at a ceremony on 16 May 2023. The Hans Uhde Foundation also honored four graduates of TU Dortmund University and an employee of thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions AG.

After welcoming speeches by Dr. Cord Landsmann (CEO, Uhde Business Unit, thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions AG) and Prof. Dr. Manfred Bayer (Rector of TU Dortmund University), Prof. Dr. Mario Botsch (TU Faculty of Computer Science) gave a keynote speech on the topic "How do I get into the metaverse? Virtual avatars using 3D scanning". Prof. Dr. Tamara Appel, Deputy Rector of Fachhochschule Dortmund, was also among the guests.

About the Hans Uhde Foundation

The purpose of the Hans Uhde Foundation is to promote science, education and training. To this end, special academic and school achievements are honored annually by awarding a gold medal, a cash prize and a certificate.
