Deanery starts new term of office

At the election meeting for the dean's election in December 2023, the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences elected the dean's office for the term of office 2024 to 2028. The term of office now starts on 01.03.2024.

Prof. Dr. Katja Nowacki(Opens in a new tab)  will continue to head the department as Dean. Katja Nowacki, Professor of Clinical Psychology and Social Psychology, has extensive experience in academic self-administration. She was already Dean of the department in her previous term of office and was active in the organization and management of the department as Dean of Studies from 2010 to 2012 and from 2014 to 2020.

The new Vice Dean for Studies and Teaching is Prof. Dr. Bianca Wühr(Opens in a new tab) , who will succeed Prof. Dr. Anja Hartmann in her position. She has been a professor of psychology in the department since 2012, has some experience in academic self-administration and teaches in the field of psychological diagnostics and social psychology.

Prof. Dr. Michael Boecker(Opens in a new tab)  will take up his next term of office as Vice Dean for Internationalization. The Professor of Social Management and Impact Orientation in Social Work already held this role in the previous deanery.

"We have exciting tasks ahead of us," says Katja Nowacki, looking ahead to the new term of office. "In addition to the upcoming accreditation of our Bachelor's degree courses and a Master's degree, we will be dealing with the challenges of the shortage of skilled workers and our opportunities to influence this, as well as the university location development plan, among other things," says the Dean, naming a few current topics.
