Lecture series on sustainable development
Dealing sustainably with each other and with the resources of our environment is the topic of the 21st century. Social, climate and Business Studies need to be harmonized.
In order to address this complex of topics, Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts has launched the "Sustainable Development Lecture Series". Lecturers at our university highlight and discuss selected aspects of sustainability from an ecological, economic or social perspective.
The lecture series emerged from the student initiative "Studium Oecologicum", which was launched last year.

Combination: Lecture series on sustainable development & presentation technology
Presentations, including meaningful lectures, are at the heart of knowledge transfer at university - and beyond. Successful information transfer takes place via media, the use of which must be practiced. The combination of the lecture series and the seminar "Presentation Techniques" focuses on the interdisciplinary examination of the topics of the lecture series.
Contents of the seminar "Presentation technique"
- Steps for creating a presentation
- Structure of a presentation
- Lines of argumentation
- Choice of media and slide design
- Body language, facial expressions and gestures
- Dealing with speech anxiety
- Dealing with objections and interruptions
In the further course of the event, you will practise by giving a presentation on one of the topics from the "Lecture Series on Sustainable Development" either alone or in a team and discussing the presentations of others together.
