Meeting of the Agile Advisory Board - Future of the Master's degree programs and Business Studies requirements

Representatives from leading companies, institutions and the university came together to discuss current topics relating to studying and careers.

On February 13, 2025, the fifth meeting of the Agile Advisory Board of the Faculty of Computer Science took place at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Representatives from leading companies, institutions and the university came together to discuss current topics relating to studies and careers.

This time, the focus of the exchange was on the faculty's Master's degree programs, which are due for reaccreditation. The current status of the study programs and their development in recent years were presented. This was followed by an intensive group work phase in which the participants addressed the following questions:

  • How do companies view Master's students today?
  • What expectations do companies have of Master's graduates
  • What requirements and ideas do companies have for the organization of Master's degree courses?


These discussions provided valuable insights into the corporate perspective and enabled a practical comparison with the current course content.

This year's Agile Advisory Board was once again made up of top-class members. Among them were:

Participants from the Fachhochschule Dortmund, Faculty of Computer Science, included Prof. Dr. Daniel Hamburg (Dean), Prof. Dr. Gabriele Kunau (Vice Dean for External Networks and Transfer), Solmaz Mjildi (Practical Semester and External Networks Officer), Prof. Dr. Sven Jörges (Head of the Master of Computer Science degree program), Prof. Dr. Christoph Friedrich (Head of the Master of Medical Computer Science degree program) and Prof. Dr. Frank Künemund (Head of the Master of Computer Science degree program).

Conclusion and outlook

The fifth meeting of the Agile Advisory Board once again provided a valuable platform for dialog between the university and Business Studies. The close cooperation makes it possible to align the computer science degree programs specifically to the current and future requirements of the market. The meeting concluded with a get-together, which provided space for personal discussions, networking and the exchange of new ideas.
