SummerFHest

Fun on the Sonnenstraße

Published

The atmosphere was phenomenal.

Employees, students, family members and residents celebrated the summer together on Sonnenstrasse - for the first time since coronavirus. As it turned out, they hadn't forgotten anything.

The FH courtyard on Sonnenstraße was not only well attended - it was buzzing and vibrating. The employees of the Studierendenwerk not only served food, but also provided the guests of the SommerFHest with wit and good humor, and their dishes were not only filling - they were tasty.

The bands didn't just perform, but brought cover songs back to life (Mirjam von Eigen and Bobby van den Bergh) or set off a stable of Fokuhila hit fireworks (The Tweens). Finally, DJs Max Berk, Ruth Kaesemann and Oliver Seifert not only touched buttons and controls, but also the dancers.

Old and new friends chatted in the queue in front of the goal wall shooting. Children were transformed into adventurers at the make-up table. Between the wine stand and the vintage car HY, between the drinks bar and the snack counter, colleagues and alumni embraced each other and chatted about less urgent and more entertaining things.

The sun not only shone - it radiated, warmed and gilded. The evening didn't just come - it embraced. Students, employees, residents and families spent a few hours in the here and now like the ice cubes in the mojitos from the dance floor bar.

One sentence was heard several times, sometimes with these words, sometimes with similar ones: "This is another really nice party." An afternoon and evening as friendly and towering as the large, old plane tree in the inner courtyard - which, bathed in a rich orange light, once again looked really good.

Platanic love.
