Instead of a traditional baton, colorful bouquets of flowers were presented: Prof. Dr. Simone Arnold will take over the management of the Women's Project Laboratory from Prof. Dr. Annette Zacharias in the winter semester 2024/25.

Prof. Dr. Bernd Runge had brought the double flower arrangement for a small ceremony to thank the previous director for her commitment and to congratulate the new director at the start. As Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, where Annette Zacharias and Simone Arnold teach, Bernd Runge also acknowledged the change on behalf of the Faculties of Computer Science, Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering. The women's project lab is aimed specifically at prospective students and female students in these fields to enable them to work creatively with technology and to provide them with ongoing support.

"You have been committed to the Women's Project Lab for almost 24 years, you have led it in a very formative way and, together with your team, have always come up with new ideas for attractive, contemporary offers," emphasized Bernd Runge in his words of thanks to Annette Zacharias. Simone Arnold can now build on the successes and will ensure "that things continue to go so well".

Irrespective of the change of leadership in the Women's Project Laboratory, Annette Zacharias will remain with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering as a lecturer in mathematics and data processing for another year - and will be available to her successor in an advisory capacity during this time.
