The reading trio (from left): Rector Prof. Dr. Tamara Appel, Chancellor Svenja Stepper and her deputy Thomas Kendziorra

"Reading aloud creates the future!" was the motto of the nationwide Read Aloud Day on November 15, 2024. Fachhochschule Dortmund's Family Service also took part again - with the active support of the university management.

The children of students and employees were invited with their parents to listen to stories together. In the library at the Emil-Figge-Straße location, they listened attentively to the entertaining contributions of the three readers.

Rector Prof. Dr. Tamara Appel's story was about a turtle's journey of discovery ("Fischbrötchen"), Chancellor Svenja Stepper's was about helping and sharing ("Meiner!") and her deputy Thomas Kendziorra's was about a sleepless cow ("Lieselotte bleibt wach").

The supporting program with handicrafts and games was provided by the caregivers of the Mobile Childcare (MoKi), who contributed to the successful event together with the library staff.
