Desk bike brings movement to the library

Published

Mario Hütte, head of the library, also tested the new desk bike.

The library is becoming a bit of a gym: at the Emil-Figge-Straße location (building 44), visitors can not only find literature, but can now also pedal. A so-called desk bike is available there as an innovative addition to a healthy learning environment.

Instead of handlebars, the special bike has a small table at the front as a storage surface on which a book or laptop, for example, can be placed. "With the desk bike, we are creating the opportunity to combine reading and learning with exercise," says Mario Hütte, head of the library. He has already tried out the new addition himself and is enthusiastic: "Especially if you have been working in the same position for a long time, the easy cycling is a pleasant change."

The desk bike can be used during normal opening hours(Opens in a new tab)  without registration.
