Following a smouldering fire at the FH Sonnenstraße location, the fire department has given the all-clear.The cause in the battery room under the high-voltage laboratory has been eliminated, the affected buildings have been cleared of smoke and have been released again.
On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, smoke had developed in the basement of House A at noon, accompanied by an unpleasant odor. The buildings were evacuated and remained closed until the afternoon during the fire department operation. No persons were injured. There was no danger to staff, students or residents. Some university departments were temporarily unavailable.
Normal operations will resume on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
